The number of miles you earn depends on the flight distance and the fare class of your ticket.
Flights marketed by China Southern Airlines (booked as a CZ flight number) are not eligible to earn Loyalty Points.

If the booking code for the ticket you buy isn’t listed in the tables, you won’t earn AAdvantage® miles or Loyalty Points.
Travel ticketed as an American Airlines marketed flight (booked as an AA flight number) and operated by China Southern Airlines will earn AAdvantage® miles.

China Southern Sky Pearl Lounges
AAdvantage Executive Platinum® status, AAdvantage Platinum Pro® status and AAdvantage Platinum® status members can access China Southern’s Sky Pearl Lounges in 23 locations in China when on an eligible flight marketed and operated by American Airlines or China Southern.*
*Eligible flights include departing flights marketed and operated by American Airlines or China Southern in any combination and in any cabin on the same day or before 6 a.m. the following day. At lounge check-in, customers must present a government-issued photo ID or passport, proof of AAdvantage® status, and a boarding pass on an eligible flight.
